Sorry for the spelling. I am putting in a new run that is 10 by 12. I am thinking of using chain link fencing for the run. What are the pro's and cons for using chain link. The chain link will be coated. The wholes in a chain link are larger than chicken wire. But are they small enough to keep preditors out? I need advice and sure would appreciate it

I just finished surrounding my coop with 100' of 5' tall chain link fence. Kinda expensive but sturdy. It will keep out dogs, cats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons and possum. I'm not sure if a weasel can fit through or not but we don't seem to have any. Snakes will slide through with no problem...

I've seen it work decently for large runs where hardware cloth isn't practical. I'd still include an inner coop area where they can get locked in at night, one that is enveloped in hardware cloth, to keep out rats.

Exactly, I have an inner area that uses chicken wire and the coop itself is sealed up with nothing bigger than 1/2" can get in... I used 1/2" hardware cloth for the vents and openings.
