We got a few new chicks at rural king, I got two ameraucanas. After a week I noticed one (darker) had the fluffy cheeks and the green legs like my older hen did when she was a chick, but the lighter one doesn't seem to have fluffy cheeks to me and it's legs aren't green and the wing color and pattern doesn't look like any that I have found online.
Could this chick be a different breed or is it for sure an ameraucana?
Thank you

I am no expert since I just got Easter eggers a few weeks ago, but they might be Easter eggers? I don’t know. Hoping someone experienced can chime in soon.

Thank you. I'm new to have that breed also I thought easter egger and ameraucana was the same, lol. I know the dark one is an ameraucana or easter egger but not sure on the light one.

They are Easter Eggers sometimes sold with names similar to Ameracauna. There is no standard for Easter eggers (Ameracaunas have a breed standard and are not usually found in feed stores) so they come in a variety of colors. Many have the beards and puffy cheeks with green legs , but not all do. They should have hatched from blue or green eggs. They will likely lay the same, but can occasionally will lay brown eggs.

Thank you. My 8 month old one lays a light blueish green color and she had/has the puffy cheeks and beard and green legs.
