What Breed and Gender is MY Big chicken-pics

I cant eat the ones I get attached to either.

Heart attack would be over before he knew it. There is someone on here that also has a meat chicken for a pet and you just have to do as MissPrissy said and watch his food intake and give him plenty of shade. He wont live as long as your layers. Sorry

thank you anyway guys i really appreciate the help, id rather know what he was and what will happen to him then go out one day and find him dead and wondering if it was my fault. just when typing this i heard him let out a big cok a doodle doo, so ya rooster, i guess im not totaly upset about it, i mean if he was in a factory he would already be in a popeyes or KFC and i can still give him a good life b4 he croaks.

quick question, he is eating the starter feed right now ( i assume its the same stuff everywhere, right?) should i swich him to anything else or keep him on the starter feed. Should i stop feeding him so much, he always seems hungry.

If you want to keep him around for awhile you will need to only feed him a couple times a day and you will want to seperate him from the rest when you do feed or he will clean out the feeder and leave none for the rest.

His breed is always hungry that is how they get so fat so fast and why people normally cull them after only 8 weeks or so.

You can feed him a flock raiser or a multi-purpose type chicken feed. Limit what you feed him and let him range and eat bugs. Make sure he has plenty of water.

Good luck with your little chicken buddy.
