What breed and gender is my chicken

About 8 weeks old . Hatched by myself. The first two pictures are took by today. Last one is about 2 weeks ago.

I want to say a lavender Orpington but the comb is wrong for that. Perhaps a cross of that breed. It looks to be a cockerel judging by the large red comb for 8 weeks.

He’s a cockerel! Do you have any EE or Ameraucanas in your flock? I’m thinking maybe he’s mixed with one of those because of the pea comb.

I bought the egg from ebay. Seller said Buff Orpington Rooster.The hens are Australop, Barred Rock, Golden Comets, and Rhode Island Red. T

Yep, there had to be something else in the maternal breeding stock, if it was a BO roo.

There’s got to be because a pea comb won’t just show up randomly with those hen breeds!
