What breed and gender is suspected of this bird?

I am thinking it's a point of lay pullet. Its legs aren't thick, I don't think I see any pointy saddle feathers, and its getting close to the age of laying. 'She' looks like a EE, so start looking for blue or green eggs! :)
 
An EE is an Easter Egger, which is basically any mutt/mix chicken carrying the blue or green egg gene. Most people would have a better description of them. Most hatcheries sell them as Americana's or Arucanas (not sure of spelling) that are more rare breeds and only come in 8 recognized colors. I hope that helped. :)

ChocMint, where did you get her from? I see that you are in Australia. We don't have the Americanas in Australia, and we don't even have what are known as Easter Eggers in Australia (as Americans would call them). We do have Araucanas and Araucana crosses here. Yours looks a little bit like my Hetty, who is an Araucana cross:

I got the chook when it was a baby from a man that was selling them on gumtree the ad was listed as mixed variety, god knows how many breeds were in the large container he kept them in.
