What breed are these hens

Do you have any pictures? Did they have their first few molts already? I know that RSLs can loose more white after each molt.

No, unfortunately. We had them years ago, and the last one died 2 or 3 years ago, before I really got into taking pictures of my chickens.

circled in red are speckled sussexes.

They're black, not red.

white one is columbian wyandotte.

She's barred. She's a delaware.

brown ones are rhode island reds,

You can very clearly see the dominant white. They are RSL.

Just to add, the example photo for the RIR is not the best example of this, but RIRs are supposed to be black tailed red.

This is correct. That's also why if you look at a lot of RSLs they'll have white tails, because the dom white turns the black to white.
