I got my first flock in June, five hens and five young brahmas from a friend. He got the hens originally as hatching eggs, and is not sure what breed they are either. Can anyone help?

Patty - lays surprisingly large, blue eggs for such a small, skittish hen.

Selma - hasn’t layed since I’ve had her, I think due to a block vent we’re treating, but apparently lays blue/green eggs. (don’t worry, I’m also treating the foot mites, she was in a bit of a state when we got her!)
Could you also tell me what the colour is called, because it doesn’t seem blue, but is too dark for lavender?

Mixed breeds :) Since they're laying blue or green eggs, you can call them Easter Eggers if you want. I will say, I'm a bit surprised they're laying colored eggs, I would expect brown out of them judging by looks. Your bottom hen appears to be blue, just a light shade.

Agreed.

The bottom hen also has a horrible case of scaly leg mites.

Thanks for the conformation :) I was assuming that at this point since I couldn’t find anything that matches the criteria. I thought Selma was a blue copper Maran at first glance due to copper on her throat.

Don’t worry, I’m treating the leg mites with a foot spray for chickens, and also with baths which also should clean her vent up. She wasn’t in the prettiest state when we got her, and believe it or not those legs are better then they were!
