I got these 3 today. The stripes make me wonder if they are different breeds? The bill color on the yellow has me wondering what it might be.

Well... this is a bit complicated. They can change color the first week for some breeds like welsh harlequinns. Although those aren't welsh harleys. It looks like the 2 on the left might be rouens. The one on the right we won't know for a bit to confirm but could be pekin, or white layer. And some buff ducks can look similar to pekin the first couple weeks but then darken out.

You won't know right away whether they are male or female until about 2 - 3 months either. At some point around 7 or 8 weeks in their voices will start changing and the males will sound raspy and quiet while the females will get loud.

I do hope they are Rouen. I know they are definitely bigger than the day olds my neighbor got at a hatchery but I know they grow fast so maybe 1 week old so I’m not real sure. Thank you for the info!

First two with the stripes are Rouens. The last one I would guess is a Buff or Saxony. Once it feathers out more it will be easier to tell.
Thanks for confirming... I felt mostly there but was hoping someone else felt the same.

Also to the original poster, many people say Rouens are very good demeanor and gentle. They are often undervalued as not being a cool newer breed. But very good. Also they can be used for meat for having a bigger carcasse weight. Although I am not saying you can't have them as permanent pets. (I do think turning them to meat is wasteful... but some people like to know a breed's traits.)

I can agree with 2 Rouens and 1 Saxony.

That’s when their voices mature. There will be subtle voice changes before that point. I’ve been able to voice-sex ducklings as early as 10 days old, but I find it to be most accurate at 4 weeks old.
