Hi all,

We got three day-olds back in May and were assured that this one was a silver-laced Wyandotte. Clearly she is not. She is about 20 weeks and not showing any variation in color, just shiny and black. She is very mild and sweet. Black Australorp? And if so, what color eggs do they lay, and about when do they begin laying?

Thanks so much!

What color are the bottoms of her feet? If they're yellow, then she's a Jersey Giant. If they're white, then she's probably a Black Australorp. Both breeds lay brown eggs and should begin laying about around 20-22 weeks old (though it does vary depending on the bird).
