Does anyone know what breed this chicken is?

Looks possibly like a Black Copper Maran or Welsummer to me, but it very well may be just a Barnyard mix.

Do you know what breeds your former neighbor has?

It looks to me like he may have scaly leg mites.

I think a black copper Marans or Welsummer could be breed possibilities. Or a mix.

He might be a Black Copper Marans, or he might be a mix of some kind.

Welsummers do not have feathers on their legs, but this rooster DOES have some feathers on his legs, so he is not a Welsummer.
