What breed is this?

We have been trying to decide what breed this chicken is. It is about 3 months old now we got him from Ideal Hatchery. He was one of a surprise straight run. He is not a bantam. We have been calling it chipmonk because it had the markings of one as a chick.

Wow, send him over to us.

He's a breed of Oriental Gamefowl. He could be an Asil or something. . Most likely a crossbred though. (the different breeds he could have in him are Asil, Thai, Shamo, Malay, etc. )

You may want to watch his attitude with other hens or roosters when he matures - But to people he'll be a sweetpea.

I checked Ideal's catalog and they have Black Breasted Red Malay-what I think this bird is.

Thanks for all the help, I do think it is a malay. We have been wondering for a while now. Next we will wait for it to start crowing or laying eggs. Either way, if it stays well behaved we will love having it.

Below are some young Malay. They grow up fast. The little black stag is not even 2 months old and is almost a foot tall. The hen is a wheaton, but I do not have any BB red.
