when you see in the grocery store jumbo eggs, what breed of chickens would they normally use to lay those? would be a breed like a orpington or something?

I've found that chicken size and egg size don't correlate much. I have Orpingtons and they all lay med. to lg. eggs.
Some Barred Rocks I used to have laid jumbo eggs and I hear Minorcas lay a jumbo white egg.
I'd be interested to know what other breeds lay bigger eggs also.

Jumbo eggs have more to do with age than breed.

Any breed that lays a large egg can lay a jumbo by the time they enter their second, possibly third, laying season. They just won't lay as many of them.

I have a Buff Orp that is over five years old. She rarely lays, but when she does I know right away which one is hers.

My Welsummer is creeping her way up through Extra Large toward Jumbo very quickly -- she's the smallest chicken I have.

Boring ol' leghorns will happily lay huge eggs, and I'd almost bet that that's where the store eggs come from.

also, the white rocks that i have give my jumbo eggs all the time, and yea they are over 2 years old

My Australorps were laying jumbo eggs when they were about 18 months old. The summer before they were only laying larges. I honestly think it is age related, although one of my RIR will lay a torpedo egg once in awhile that is jumbo lol.
