What breed of hen do I have?

Hi everyone,

I've got a really good hen!

She gives me close to an egg a day, except when she's raising chicks that aren't hers for me.

She stays in a thirty square foot of my unfenced acre , and she's never left that area.

She's gently sets the example for the other chickens I've had too.

She was full grown when my neighbor moved and gave her to me, so she doesn't come close or like to be petted; but she's just about the perfect chicken!

Can anybody please help me get more like her by identifying her breed?

Thanks Frazz, I hate to say this, but she lays white eggs.

I picked her when my neighbor moved because she was always sitting on all the eggs the other chickens laid too.

So much so, they named her Gollum.

Ok, with her leg color, that makes a better case for a game something. She could be derived from the feral chickens in Hawaii.

She's just a mix. With the quality of those pictures, it is nearly impossible to tell what she actually is.

Most chickens in Hawaii come from fighting stock, or are mixed with it...

You're probably right.

Lovely girl you have there! The broody with chicks pictures are so sweet! And I love how green everything looks on your property. Glad that this hen found you!

I've had her for two years, and she was an adult laying eggs when I got her.

She only tried to hatch one batch of eggs, other than that, unless she sees a chick (and her mama instinct kicks in) she's laid me almost an egg a day for two years!

I wish I knew what she's mixed with.
