I got 2 ducklings from tractor supply that ended up both being khaki campbell drakes. I really want some eggs, so I want to get some females. Can I mix the breeds now? I want super friendly duck breeds that lay a decent amount of eggs. More importantly is the friendliness. Was thinking Magpie and Rouen? Or welsh harlequin? What breeds do you suggest to go with my 2 khaki Campbells?

Attaching pics of my 2 guys.

I would suggest Ancona ducks. They can lay upwards of 280 eggs per year, and can also be used as a meat bird. This breed also is a bit too large to fly off, so you dont have to worry about that.

Very friendly breed, theyll eat right out of your hand.

Lovely Khaki Cambells youve got!

My Rouen ducks are really friendly. They are about 7 or 8 now so they don't lay any longer but they used to lay nice large eggs. You will need several if you are keeping both of those drakes and they will more than likely have to be sexed or you will end up with more drakes which I am sure you already know. My Khaki boys were really bad with my girls, chasing them all the time and giving them a hard way to go so they got rehomed. Good luck with your decision.

Must depend on the Runners, all of mine do exactly what they are called, RUN!!!! LOL Only one of the 4 are brave enough to try to eat out of my hand.
I don’t know, but I think the reason mine are so friendly is because I handled them a lot when they were little especially Poppy because she had angel Wing so she’s actually the friendliest now. mine run towards me and then they just stand there lol lol

My big Mule Duck is my friendliest but I had to actually peel her out of her shell and wash her right away because she was full of goo so that is probably why. She comes right up and eats everything out of my hand and so do my Rouen ducks. The rest will come up within a foot but want me to toss it to them, lol. Every once in a while one will grab something from me but they would rather not. My Khaki's are pretty brave though and will also come to think of it.
