That looks like my French Black Copper Marans Rooster on my icon. I raise them. The French Marans have feathered shanks down to their toes.

Great! I was told he was, but was making myself nervous with his shank color. I want to use him for breeding but don't want to put mutts out there and call them pure bred!

Oh and hes only 10 months old, can't wait until after the first molt!

Them shanks look like they should. He's not a bad looking rooster. I see he's got that green sheen going on his feathers. He's a keeper.

He good with his crowing also, only in the morning then you don't hear him the rest of the day! He's not super loud crow either

Is there a chance he has wheaten in him? Given the shank color?
