So, that’s what I thought too. But I started looking closely at all breeds and found that they can be confused with Dominiques and with certain Wyandottes. She has a single comb though, so I ruled out the Dominique.
But I kind of wanted to be sure, since I keep calling them barred rocks. Lol

Her single comb and black washed yellow legs help identify her breed along with the barring. You can see a toe in the picture that is yellow.

I have three almost identical.
I was sure I was wrong about the breed, as everything I read said they are docile. These three are my most aggressive hens.

I currently have two barred Rock pullets. One is as mean as can be, the other is a total sweetie. She loves being held and will hop up in your lap if you give her half a chance. In general, the ones I've had have always been pretty mellow as a breed.
