What breed?

Hello! This is my who-knows-what hen, Gem. I have been trying to figure out her breed for sooo long. Anyone wanna bet?

What kind of odds are you giving? I'll bet that she is a silky cross.

Looks similar to my Silkie x Cochin cross chicks that I incubated and hatched myself. They aren't as old as yours yet, I hatched them in December, but I have about 30 of them and they all share similarities to your girl. I don't have any good pics at the moment.

Silkie cross. With that tail and build, I don't think she's mixed with cochin, it would be something more upright, and not feather legged or she'd have heavier leg feathering.

I only have one cockerel, the Cochin, so that's the only Silkie mix I have personal experience with. A few chicks have the golden color leakage on their necks from him. But as stated, the tail and leg/foot feathering suggest something other than Cochin.

But it definitely looks like a Silkie mix, with the skin color, comb type, and afro. Do you know how many toes she has? And where did you get her from? Do you know what breeds of chickens they have where you got her?
