What bug is this?

Found it under the nesting pad and between the wood when I opened the nesting box. I have permethrin dust under the nesting pads and they were still under there. I have a broody hen but I didn’t see any of these on her. I will be checking again at night.

They look too big to be mites to me, which is good. I'd wager that they're living in the wood, not on your birds. I tend to leave them be.

However, if you do want to get rid of them, I'd mix a little Zodiac brand flea and tick dog shampoo in water and spray it all over. This is probably not a vet recommended method, but i've yet to see an infestation, mites or otherwise, that Zodiac couldn't kill.

That was my hope. That they were just wood lice and not chicken lice. Since it looked like they were just between the two pieces of wood. But I had to be sure. Once the weather evens out here I’ll be doing a deep clean on the coop and then I can clean them out. Thank you.
