What Camera Should I Buy?

We leave for Alaska on May 10th! I have been researching cameras, reading reviews and talking to people. Most folks say the Nikon D90 would be the best, but some say the Nikon D60 will do everything I need for a lot less price. I am looking for input from You - my BYC family! I know that there are lots of folks on here that take just the most wonderful pictures I have ever seen! Tell me what you think or if you have ever used either one of these cameras.

I'd go with the D60... sometimes all the bells and whistles make it harder to operate... I have an older nikon (requires this thing called film

) and it was 1 step up from my mother in laws nikon.... hers was so much better..

Not a Nikon.

I got a Canon Power Shot SX10IS
I love it.

Not too hard to use, only trouble I have had was losing the lens caps.
Take a look at the Rebel a friend of mine has it and loves it. She gets great pics.

Thanks for your reply, I may look at that. I am going to visit my Son in Daytona Beach next week and visit a camera ship while I am there. I am not hung up on buying a Nikon, I have had some friends say they have had great luck with theirs. I have a Canon right now.

Yea, Gonzo, I know what you mean about the bells n whistles. They tend to confuse me.
