What can I do for an injured leg?

Last night the Mrs. and I went to the auction and bought 8 chics. One of them seems to have a broken or sprained leg. It kind goes out to the side and she doesn't or can't put weight on it. Will mother nature heal her and if so will it be healed kinda like it is (out to the side). Should we splint it or try (ouch!) to reset it? She's according to the seller 4 days to a week old. We feel so bad for her, but don't know what to do.

Sounds like splay leg. If so, it can be treated pretty sucessfully.

Do a search on splay leg to see if that is exactly what it is based on her symptoms.

If it is splay leg, we used a bandaid and make kind of a figure 8 going around both legs to hold the splayed leg straight. I am NOT good at explaining this, but there are some pictures on here of how to configure this contraption.
