1) What type of bird , age and weight.

Cochin Bantam, 2 days old, unsure of weight.

2) What is the behavior, exactly.

Listless (sleeping non stop), barely opening eyes, not eating, not drinking with out help

3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.

A small open looking spot, red where i imagine the belly button is

4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.

She/he hatched two days early

5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.

Will only drink with help, haven't tried food as I figured she/he is still okay since she/he is only 48 hours old

6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.

No poop yet, that i have seen

7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?

Electrolyte water given by dropper - how much should i be giving, she
Seems to struggle to get it down, also i have separated her from the rest of the group as she was getting trampled. I put hydrogen peroxide on a gauze pad and set her on that to help with any bacteria.

She may have hatched too early or have an infection in her belly. Heep up with the water and electrolytes. The best way to give the drops is to drop the drops near the top of her beak on the side. This way they will roll slowly into her mouth and not go into her lungs. I would give Poly Vi Sol baby vitamins without iron. One drop morning and one drop evening.

Can you make a semi liquid mash with the chick food. Mix the crumbles with the electrolytes and see if she will eat a tiny amount off of your finger. You could also try mashed up boiled egg yolk.

Keep her belly dry. Don't let her rest on a gauze with peroxide on it. A little dab of neosporin would be better. Don't use the kind with the pain relief. It is dangerous to chickens.

My best to both of you. Others should be on soon and you will get the best information is the world.
