I have been saving some eggs to set for about 4 days. When I put them in cartons I checked for air cell placement and only remember having a few that were porous. Today I rechecked them as getting ready to put in bator tomarow and almost all look porous. Did I miss it or can something cause them to become porous?

From what I understand it is calcium. How much they are getting etc.

I also read somewhere that I hen can regulate how porous they are due to the climate.

Hopefully someone else will see this and let us know for sure.

Good Luck!!!

We give them layer and free choice oyster shells. They do free range all day and get table scraps (they have to fight the dog for them

). I checked the eggs I got today and only a few are porous, so I just don't know if I missed noticing that many the last four days or if something happened to them after I put them in the cellar.
