Hi,
I would like to seek your expertise on chicken breeding.
Recently I purchased hubbard's F1 colored broilers and planning on producing my own meat type chickens. However, I had read somewhere in the internet that breeding F1s would result in inconsistent chicks since they are brothers and sister. So the thing is I need to find another rooster to cross my hubbard pullets and here are the options available in my locality.
1. Kabir rooster
2. Paraoakan rooster (native breed with asil blood locally available here in the philippines)
Both of the breeds mentioned are meat type. What do you think will be best for me given these objectives:
1. The chicken should be almost as fast growing like the hubbards
2. They need to be free ranged
3. They need to be strong against sickness
Also, if there are others in here that have already tried crosses I mentioned, please post some pictures of your chickens so I can have an outlook on what I would expect in the future.
Thank you.
