Hi!
I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what my chicks might look like. Now,I have a pic of them and their parents below. But I also need to add, that their dad is actually split for chocolate. His mom is a chocolate laced gold olive egger. The chicks are a 5th generation of a line of olive eggers of mine,so moreso breeding for egg color, but because I bred my laced rooster with a wheaten maran hen,i'm curious as to what the chicks will look like! Google is no help. Maybe someone has bred laced and wheaten and can share pics? I thought there would be at least half arse lacings but chest feathers look like they'll be just red. i'll add more pics of that as they age. they are my only 2 new years hatches!

It will be very interesting. They will be red incomplete laced. Half the pullets will be red incomplete chocolate laced, so maybe the one on the right will be female since it seems lighter.

They both look like females already just by their combs. I'm just not quite sure if the one on the right is chocolate or not. I can't tell by the down this time. The chest feathers are starting to come in and it looks solid. neither look like they would even have 1 copy of lacings. I'll add some more pics when I get a chance.

Well, turns out one is a male one is a female. The female does have partial lacings coming in.Unexpected,! the male doesn't.I'm undecided on keeping her til point of lay as I did actually hatch out 3 chocolate based ones, which are guaranteed females, and would rather keep a pea combed one.i'll still share pics here of them all,as maybe this will help someone someday know what wheaten and laced will produce!
