I hate to hijack cowman's thread (sorry cowman!), but I here is the silkie I was told was a grey - she used to look like the bird in cowman's first pics here, but she's losing some of the goldish coloring in favor of silver (she's 8 months old here):
And I was told this was a blue partridge (also 8 months old) - true?
I think I have more pics - if not, I'll take some - but I'll post them in another thread. I only put these pics up in this thread as a comparison because of post #4 that said cowman's first bird could be a blue partridge.
Some of the feathering looks blue, some black. It obviously can't be both, but to me more of it looks blue (feet, body, lower portion of tail) than black (head, upper portion of tail).
I have a blue partridge cock who is even darker a blue, but his babies are all much lighter in colour, unquestionably blue. I don't have a blue partridge hen, so the colour has to come from him.
