First time raising quails! I got a batch of celadon eggs from ebay and now have 10 beautiful babies.

I’m wondering what they will look like when they grow up?

I did not study up on colorations an terminology... so pardon my german in describing the colors I have!

I seem to have

2x brown chipmunk
1x messy black/blue(?) chipmunk
1x messy brown black (?) chipmunk
2x yellow
1x silver-grey yellow
1x silver striped yellow chipmunk
1x yellow with black top of head and back
1x chipmunk with some yellow on underbelly

I will definitely be watching because I am very curious about their colors as well! ;)

Super cute 😍

I see some Tibetan/Rosetta (the dark ones) and some Silver/Blue (not 100% sure). Many of them pied/tuxed.

The one in your hand will become a beautyful back-pied, adoreable ... possible Tibetan in the pie, but also not sure.
Quite early to tell in many cases.

Congratz 😃👍

can’t wait for them to grow up! Good thing they feather out much faster than chickens 🤣

With silver in the mix, it’s difficult to say for sure at this age, as silver often becomes stronger with age, the first one on the video looks like it has roux and silver, the yellow ones may be what we call fakers, and develop silver as their feathers grow out, one of the yellows looks to maybe have a crooked neck. The brown striped one is pharaoh, the one that’s similar but has yellow eyebrows is Rosetta. The dark tuxedo you held in the video looks like it might have silver. The first pic you are holding is Rosetta, the second looks like it could be somewhere between grau fee and falb fee, as it carries traits of both patterns.

Thank you for the detailed break down, the yellow one does indeed have a crooked neck, you have a sharp eye!

Imm currently treating as I would for wry neck with vit E and egg yolk, but I’m wondering whether there are other solutions...
