What Colors Will They Be?

Hey guys!

I got some free hatching eggs from a neighbor of mine and I am curious to know what I can expect. His hens are pure silver laced wyandotte and I don't remember what the breed was but he has a solid blue rooster. The name I believe started with an A but I'm not 100% on that. Anybody know what I could possibly get?

Welcome to BYC! If the rooster is indeed solid blue, perhaps an Ameraucana (not an EE), the chicks should be blue or black with possibly incomplete lacing.

Could be an Andalusian or a Blue Australorp also if it’s blue & starts with A!

Your chicks will likely be either blue or black with golden or silver leakage, depending on the breed of rooster. I have a Blue Ameraucana rooster and Silver Laced Wyandotte hens, and I've hatched three chicks from them, two solid blue hens and a blue and gold cockerel. They're all very nice birds

Andalusian!! Thats what it was! Oh I can't wait. Sounds like they'll be very pretty! I am so excited!
