I have 3 black maran x silkie crosses. dad is a white silkie and mum is a black/copper maran. just curious, i have arucauna easter eggers so am interested to see what my egg cartons are going to look like.

also i have a black arucauna who lays olive green eggs have 2 of her eggs from andalusian (possibly ancona) rooster. (white eggs) and 2 fertilized by black polish roo (white eggs) I've been told that its possible the eggs from these offspring may be blue or light green as opposed to olive. is this possible?

Your Araucana is actually a specific Easter Egger known as an Olive Egger as opposed to a true Araucana which lay only blue eggs. That means that your Black Easter Egger carries both a blue egg gene and a chocolate egg gene as it requires this particular combination to produce olive eggs, so the answer to your question is "Yes, the eggs of the offspring from your Black EE hen and your Andalusian/Ancona rooster will be either a light shade of blue or brown depending on whether your Black Easter Egger passes her chocolate or her blue gene to the offspring.

What breed is what I've heard called an Easter Egger? And does the hen lay multiple colored eggs? What colors? I have an Americauna who lays only green (not olive, but more a pastel). I want an Easter Egger if that is a chicken who is a specific breed and lays many colors.

Ameraucanas and Araucanas are both true breeds that lay blue eggs. There is no such thing as a true breed that lays many colors. Easter Eggers are hybrids produced by crossing blue egg layers with brown egg layers to produce offspring that lay eggs in colors other than just blue. Green is a very common color with Easter Eggers. Easter Eggers that lay olive green eggs are often referred to as Olive Eggers. Some EEs lay beige or even pale pink or gold eggs. However each individual EE lays only one color of egg. Hatcheries often incorrectly market their Easter Eggers as Ameraucanas or Araucanas. True Ameraucanas and Araucanas are generally available only from breeders, not from hatcheries or feed stores and they are much more expensive than Easter Eggers. There is a good article at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html explaining the difference between Ameraucanas, Araucanas, and Easter Eggers.

Thanks for this info and my Americauna does lay blue eggs-not green. It was my fiance that says they are green, but I say blue:) We were told she's a full breed & 2nd one. My 1st died and I was told due to she broke an egg inside her. She was sort of a buff & pale red color. The one now, Goldie, is a pretty gray or silver and gold.
Here's a (not very clear) pic of Goldie. She has filled out nicely since this pic was taken about a month ago.

Thanks for the link about the differences between the Aracaunas, Americaunas & EE's. Very helpful and interesting histories, too. Well I really thought there was a chicken out there that lays all different colors:( Now I'm going to see if TSC has any EE's:) I'd love to have 1 EE & 1 BO; but our coop is only an 8x8ft., and we already have 7 hens and a Frizzle rooster. Also right now we don't let them free range as my yard is not completely fenced in (my 2 Delawares and my barred rock love to slip out of the coup on occasion when I open the door though.lol);but where the coup is there's really little area for them to scavenge as it's a shared space with our quail, rabbits and pet tortoise. But my chickens are happy and healthy and docile:)
