I have 4 young peafowl & 1 guinea together in a 5 x 5 1/2 x 5 covered pen with roosting limb

They all seem to be doing fine. Temperament is good. Noisy. Eating good - even turned over feeder getting excited the other day which I fixed do they can't do again. I went to just do a regular check & socialization with them today & my pied purple & camo seem to be thin in chest area but did not feel hot - the vet told me to watch their chest muscles bc they should be full & strong so I'm worried & not sure what could be wrong

Have your vet check their poop for worms, coccidia, bacteria and yeast.

They have all been wormed within the last 2 months - could they have that many more already

If you used any of the following you are probably okay:

Valbazen 0.08ml per pound orally and repeat in 10 days
Safeguard at 0.23ml per pound orally for 5 days.

You might have worms if you used any of these:
Wazine - it only treats large roundworms
Safeguard in water - it is not very effective
Ivermectin - no longer an effective poultry wormer

If you're interested, I have studies and dosing information on everything above. Also have necropsy pictures from birds that were treated with Safeguard in water and ivermectin. Proof positive to me that they aren't effective.

The vet said they would check the stool & handle birds just to see if I'm right for $25 :)

Take multiple stool samples from the pen floor, mix them thoroughly and have the vet do one fecal float for the pen. That will save you a lot of money, should be $25 for one not $100 for four. If any one of the birds have worms or cocci they all need to be treated at the same time.

If they don't find any worms or cocci, ask for a gram scale for bacteria.
