A naked neck male carrying 2 naked neck genes for 100% naked chicks or a naked neck male with 1 gene or a regular male for 50% naked chicks out of a clutch

Sorry to sound uneducated but how do I determine the genes?

Birds with one gene will have a large clump of feathers around their throat like this boy.

Birds with one gene will just have a few scraggly feathers around their throat.

Thank you. The black and white male is my current boy.

Either works, eggs mean you might get some extra girls or lots of boys, and buying a rooster means that you'll have to quarantine

Yes. If you get birds from outside sources, especially from people that aren't NPIP, the. You want to keep the birds completely seperate for at least 30 days to make sure they're not sick. Chickens can carry horrible illnesses that they may not be showing until later on and most, once your birds get them, thats it, you can't get rid of it
