what did I plant????? calling gardeners

I have been so busy with my chooks this year the gardens have been somewhat neglected. in one raised bed I had some string beans, potatoes, and corn.

I found this on my potatoes plant or on what I believe is my potatoes plant but at this point am unsure. I did plant several new varieties and I am not familiar with many potatoes usually just planting the ones that have started to sprout in my pantry, but I think I planted a variety from the garden store and am confused.

I have mulched it with straw so that the spuds stay dark, but at the tips of the plants these green berries ??? are growing. Here is a pic of the leaves, flower (which to me looks like potatoes flower) and the weird berry thing. did I maybe plant something else in there too and forgot?

NO, I think that is normal on a potato plant. I saw something similar on

It's the top of the potato plant. Just leave the berries - the tuber is what you want and the leaves/berries are poisonous (part of the nightshade family).

ha thats so funny I have never seen them before I thought I was going crazy, I guess not all varieties make them all my other potatoes just had flowers no berries.
