What did Tractor Supply give me?

I got these chicks from Tractor Supply. The employee said they were Golden Sex Links. The store also has Cinnamon Queen chicks. The photo on Hoover Hatchery shows Cinnamon Queens looking like my chicks. Other hatcheries show a completely different chick. What do I really have here?

They could be brown Leghorns, Welsummers or speckled Sussex.

They are very cute! We just got 13 chicks from Tractor Supply and one of them looks like this. However, we were told we got 1 Rhode Island Red and 1 Production Red -- the rest were 3's of 2's of each. So if just one looks similar to yours, logically it would be a RIR or Production Red? Supposedly we got 3 Golden Sexlinks (golden Comet?) So I'm doing some research too on McMurray's Hatchery site and others to see which chick is which breed. Sorry I don't have an answer, but hopefully we'll both get one.

Tractor supply breeds are a gamble of getting whatever they have on the signs at the time you are buying them. Most their employees are doing good to know the difference between a duckling and a chick.

They are Cinnamon queens and they are gold sex links. Cinnamon queen, golden comet, golden buff, red star, isa brown and more are just names hatcheries give their red/gold sex links. Hoover Hatchery cinnamon queens (E.G., YOUR CHICKS) are produced by breeding a RIR rooster to a silver laced wyandotte hen. Cackle Hatchery uses RIR roosters and Rhode Island white hens for their cinnamon queens. Sex link just means that sex is linked to color. Sex link chickens can be sexed from hatch based on their dominate feather color but since they are not a breed and each hatchery use it's own "recipe" there will be some variation in pattern and or color depending on what pure breeds the hatchery bred to produce the sex link. But in all red/gold sex links hens will always have red/brown dominate feather color and roosters dominate feather color will be white (yellow as chicks.)

Billw84 - Wow, that is the best and most complete explanation of "sex link chicks" and of what Tractor Supply sells that I've heard anywhere! Thank you so much. It helps me too because I just bought a baker's dozen of mixed breed chicks from TS and was wondering what is who and who is what. This is very helpful! Disclaimer, I love them all - I guess if I was picky on breeds I wouldn't have gone to TS! I just hope I ended up with all pullets.
