I have a pair of snowy call ducks that free range with all of the other ducks. I saw them mating yesterday and today I found an egg. I really think it's a Rouen egg, but I'd like to be sure. Does anyone have a picture you could post so I kind of know what to look for? TIA

dont have any pics, but they are a good bit smaller than rouens. About laying hen eating egg size usually off white to very pale blue green color, just a touch of it though, not really a colored egg.

Mine have been smaller eggs, no pictures, but I can tell you that they comfortably fit into the blue quail egg trays.

I have 24 in the bator right now. Slightly green colored, yet surprisingly easy to see into when candling. Same size as a chicken egg. I'll take a picture when I mist them in the morning if you don't get one by then.

Thanks so much for your replys guys..........now I know what to look for. One more question.........DH built several nesting boxes for the Rouens this weekend and is going to build one for the calls. Any suggestions? I don't want them to just build a nest anywhere on the property as we have lost several Rouen hens when they go broody. He's probably going to build a little smaller version of what he built for the Rouens. We usually put pine as bedding. Would you suggest using pine or straw for the calls? We'd like to make it as appealing to them as possible.

The first picture is what he built this weekend. He threw 3 of these together in a couple of hours. The second picture is one he built last summer and spent a little more time on.

PS I figured out how to post a pic

Thank you! It was my husbands dream to have acreage and a pond. It's stocked with bass, bream and crappie (white perch) and of course the ducks (and the chickens that stay in my yard). I was VERY much a city girl and used to just say OK when he would talk about it. Now, you couldn't pay me to live in the city.......in fact, I want MORE land! I'll post a better pic of the pond now that I've figured out how to do it.
