What do I feed my 4 week old chicks

Ok so I went to the feed store and asked them if I should use crumble. They told me to give them layer pellets. That sounds wrong. So here I am asking you. What would I give them? Actually can you tell me from hatch to adult that would be awesome!!

They should still be using starter mash or crumbles and in a few weeks you can start the switch to grower feed. The laying pellets have too much calcium in it for baby chicks and could harm them. I hate to say it but lots of the time the people who work in the stores don't really know what they are talking about.

Ok so I have another problem then. I went ahead and bought more laying pellets. Its been a couple of days will that harm them.

Just a few days won't hurt them but switch them back to starter immediately. They need to be on a feed of at least 20% until POL
