What do ya'll think about chicken aprons?

What is the concept behind them?
Does it work?
Does it have any drawbacks?

It allows for a protective layer between the hens back and the rooster's spurs during mating.

I've used them before, they work. The hens dont like it when you first put them on, but they eventually get used to it.
