What do you all treat worms with?

I have three 9 week old pullets in a chicken tractor and I was wondering if/how often I should use a dewormer? Does cayenne pepper work? If so, how much should I use? What do you use for a dewormer? Thank you so much for any responses!

i dunno if pepper works but i know diatomaceous earth does

I've never seen any documentation that either DE or cayenne works.

i know im not the only one. next time look it up lol. weve used it for years on swine and poultry both. cattle are not affected as much i guess because they are so big but i know it will knock out worms along with flies lice mites etc. good stuff

Not a bad idea to identify what kind of worm it is first, but
basically, if you want to go with meds instead of all natural, worm with Wazine first (read back of bottle for exact amount) put in the drinking water for 24 hours. This kills adult worms, Wait 2 weeks and follow up with broad spectram wormer such as fenbendazole, lavamisole or ivermectin.


This is a pretty long read, but covers a lot of info on worming , think it even gives the dosages for wazine and ivermectin pour on. Pretty informative, at least it was for me.

wazine is only good for roundworms and other worms of the g.i. area. doesnt help with ones that infect the lungs and such. the d.e. is good for that if you dust your birds in it. beware it doesnt taste good when you overdo it and ingest it yourself lol

Thank you everyone, you've all been very helpful! I'll read through those links you all sent, so far I like 3 horses method... As far as I can tell my birds do not have worms, but I guess there's not always symptoms.

I use apple cider vinegar, which prevents worms and is good for them and I deworm them quite often with Verm-X.
