I have 5 2 year old chicken and 2 9 week old chicken. They are all together in the same coop. But as the little ones grow it becomes much more difficult to prevent them from eating the layer food. So I want to switch to an all flock pellet. What do you recommend and is it enough if I supply oyster shells on the side for the older hens.
Thanks

I'm feeding a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower crumble to my hens (23 months old), with a separate container of Oyster Shells. 20181214_095753.jpg It's enough calcium for my hens, but I offered it to them at 17 weeks, before they started to lay.

The All-Flock pellet readly available at my local TSC is this. 20200512_154932_resized_kindlephoto-31418081.jpg . You can get these Oyster Shells at TSC, (Tracter Supply Co). 20191228_160027_resized.jpg

ETA; This feed in pellets, is usually sold out. 20200801_073021_resized.jpg . I was just on the TSC website and they have a new All-Flock pellet. 20200801_073354_resized.jpg . It's lower in protein than I like. I prefer 18 to 20%. GC

I use the Nutrena All Flock for all my chickens. I have 4 year olds, 1 year olds, 7 month olds and 6 week olds and they all eat this now. They love it and it even smells yummy to me! I do have oyster shell in saucers for the hens separately. :D

I use game bird feed with oyster shell on the side (suitable for everyone in the coop including tiny chicks).

I live in a rural area and don't recall the stores even carrying "all flock" but they do have a few types of game bird feed.
