What do you think about feeding your chickens scraps instead of feed?

I think you should feed them some feed, too.. But what do you think about feeding them strictly scraps?

I did 5 days scrap and 2 days feed and that seemed great for them, I got great eggs and they loved it, then one of my 'suppliers' stopped helping and I'm down to three days on sraps four off and my eggs have dropped with the heat anyway.

Remember is 1/4-1/2 pound per adult standard sized animal or if you feed them and there is still food in 1 hr it was too much, otherwise add supplementary feed.

I think it would be a cheap way to feed a nutritionally deficient diet

Because everyone eats a perfectly balanced diet every time they eat... not over time, everyone eats the correct vitamins and minerals split up exactly over the number of meals they eat...
