What do you think went wrong here??? This is the second egg that died after pipping PRIOR to the unzipping 1st one didn’t make but was further along

What’s your take on what went wrong during incubation maybe even prior? ...FYI HAD STRONG HATCH RATE

I had a large incubation process going on with two different batches the first batch we’re all successful in the second shortly behind it I’ve got about five that I’ve made it I had to save two of them but I’ve noticed there’s a problem with the unzipping process and I’ve lost I think more than a few and I am afraid to go any further with those... The one that I have that I DID NOT ASSIST and it made it VERY FAR, that first one is not pictured here However, I did dissect it carefully and it looked like the abdomen didn’t consume the yolk fully within it completely inside the abdomen, so your opinions here on what may have happened; maybe humidity too high or too low that said the second one had started to PIP and there was some crust or something outside of the almost unzip/pip area process and it’d been there too long, (these are pure bread bantam silkies FYI) so I tried to help it out but it was already dead.. so I looked a little further for my own information and what had happened to learn what went wrong... I have at least 5-6 more to hatch in this batch and at at least on day 21+\-. I’m pretty sure they won’t make, no chirping and a few had begun to pip...NEED help from anyone with knowledge on the situation.. again, I did save two that didn’t seem were able to make the shell crack or open enough to start/finish the unzipping ... seemed super dry and a little yellow around the pips for 1st oxygen.. tough shell and a lot of babying and was slow going but those two made it... one I didn’t help that’s not pictured here yet but hatched... I’m extremely worried about it’s feet...please see pics of my unborn grand baby RIP 😢😭😱😥😓...it’s GRAPHIC PLEASE BE AWARE PRIOR TO VIEWING

This is the other I’m worried about,...may be deformed or Mail-deformed feet? It doesn’t seem to be able to walk and I’ve fed it liquid vitamins.. it’s super alive and alert... just seriously struggling ☹️😤😳

Congratulations, cute little chicks and an even cuter and proud little chick momma :)

Regarding the chicks that failed to hatch: sometimes there are no obvious reasons, as i.e. malnourished parent birds might cause an otherwise perfectly formed and healthy chicken to give up due to nutrient deficiencies.

Eggs containing too much albumen (often big pullet eggs) can lead to drowning, as the chicks pip and instead of breathing, they inhale the leftover albumen.

Malposition of the head can prevent a successful zipping as well.

And there are many other reasons for it. Here is some more information regarding troubleshooting incubation failures: http://extension.msstate.edu/content/trouble-shooting-failures-egg-incubation
