I am just curious as to what you use for the nest boxes. I have a plastic dog house in mine, it's big enough for a lab. If it gets cold we have the plastic flap door for it, but for now the door is off. She isn't laying right now, but she has went inside of it and fits well, it isn't big enough for the tom to get in there with her though which I think is a good thing.

Mine made a nest in the dog house when that's all they had. A couple always laid eggs on the ground, and one would lay in the nest boxes, just like the chickens. They're big nest boxes, but she'd have her head and tail sticking out, with just her body inside the box.

I used an old sidetable that is enclosed on 3 sides and put a piece of 1x4 across the open front. The size is about 12x14. I know the girls have been in but have not tarted laying yet. Also have a hooded (cat) litter box filled with straw out in the run. I've seen posts that some have used those with good results
