I'm wondering what my mutts will look like as they grow up. I'll post pics tomorrow but I'll describe the colors.
1. One chick is a dark grey with a white bottom and 3 white spots on it's head. Father is light sussex and mother is cochin. No feathered feet. The feet are dark grey.
2. Another is similar to the one I mentioned above except this one is black instead of grey. Father is light sussex and mother is either barred rock or cochin. No feathered feet. Feet are dark grey.
3. Biggest chick is yellowish white. Second born yet the biggest. Father is light sussex and mother is ? (could be new hampshire red, production red, or a brahma cross). Feet are orange. No feathered feet.
4. 3rd born has a yellow head and grey, brown, and black body. Father is light sussex and mother is ? Orange feet. No feathered feet. One other chick is exactly the same, so it came from either the same breed mom or just one chicken.
The only mating rooster is a light sussex named Melvin. For the mixed colored chicks, the possible mothers are : Production red, blue cochins, black cochins, brahma crosses (2 red 1 buff), new hampshire red, and barred rocks. Who do YOU think the mom is of the multicolored chicks.
If you have any pictures similar to what I described and how they turned out please post!!
