What does a healthy hen look like?

I'm off to buy 3 Buff Orpingtons, already 16 weeks old, from someone off Craigslist. I've talked to them on the phone, and they seem nice, but I wanted to have a checklist of things to check for before I buy them. What are warning signs of unhealthy (or healthy) hens to look out for?

check for mites...... also make sure they are somewhat big not malnourished..... I take in charity cases lol but it is not recommended if you are gonna mix them with your flock...... check their vent as well....
