My six-week old little hen Nugget seems to have a very sweet, gentle disposition. She's very quiet and seems comfortable being held and snuggled. Since the day we got her at 2 weeks old, when she sits in my hand/arm she stretched her neck out seemingly as long as it can go and rests it on me. I am new to chicken lingo. Is this an affection or comfort thing? When she was still lacking feathers to be outdoors I was holding and petting her watching tv and she fell asleep like that - neck all outstretched. Her sister Noodle sleeps like a "normal" bird with her head tucked back to the wing.
I used to keep parakeets and cockatiels and haven't seen any other birds sleep that way... so just wasn't sure if shes an oddball or this is affection. Seems like affection, but I haven't had chickens so maybe I am just projecting what I wish it was haha.
