What does beard on an EE mean?

Ok when I went to the sadieville swap I bought 2 lovely EE's and a RIR. Well one of the EE's has developed a HUGE beard. I mean HUGE. They looked the same when I got them at around 15 weeks. Now they look sooo different. I mean that beard is HUGE. I cannot get over it. I have been so insane about cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, bug stuff, treating a hen for bubmlefoot, cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning I didn't even notice it happening. I go to pick my 'gal' up and she has a beard. Is this a gender thing or do some of them have this. None of mine had beards before. She is still lovely just different. Do girl chickens get beards?

Yes, they do. It's part of the breed characteristics of their backgrounds.

Ok I can relax for a bit now. I swear I was convinced she was a girl with the amount of attention the young roos have been showing, and then the beard. Ahh I really want a couple colorful egg layers. So she will be my bearded lady in this circus.
