What Does Faith Mean to You?

Faith, according to the Bble, is also a gift. Everyone that comes into the world is given "a measure of faith" (Romans 12:3). That faith may be small, only as big as "a mustard seed" (Mark 4:31), which is very tiny. But that faith, used and cutivated, can grow and accomplish great things. Who has not seen and marveled at a sapling that took root in a tiny crack of a huge boulder, that over time developed such powerful roots that it split the boulder in two? Or who has not cursed a persistent tree which, in spite of being cut down repeatedly, continued to grow and raise up a portion of a sidewalk or push a wall out of alignment? As we exercise our tiny seed of faith it grows into a mighty channel of God's power and strength in our world for all to see - and some may rejoice and marvel at its influence while others may curse and resent it.

To me, faith is trusting in the universe and hoping for the best, even when you have no evidence that the universe can deliver. For instance, I do still have faith that humanity overall is a force of good and positive change, and the uncertainty we all face is a blip on the graph.

A strong belief, whether applied to spiritual or secular ideology.
I also think that it's a more powerful word (or concept) than most folks give it credit for.
Faith is easy to proclaim, but faith tested is often awe inspiring.
On the flip side, sometimes faith can result in terrible atrocities. :idunno
Great question!
