What does pyle mean when describing a color?

Thanks, Chris, but I'm still not quite sure I understand what lemon or blue pyle would mean. If you could it explain it in a bit more detail, I'd appreciate it.

So it is basically a white chicken with red (or whatever color) on the neck (hackle) area and on the saddle area and wings on the rooster. What about the hens, where is their coloring at?

Pyle markings (eg in genetics articles) refer to red shoulders and gold to red hackles and saddle i.m.o.
Don't know if the gold wing triangle is included.
These markings are most evident on an else white chicken.

The hens should be red to salmon breasted and gold necked, else (creamy) white.

Thanks, Henk. I think I finally understand. There are so many of these kinds of terms, it's hard to know exactly what they mean. Next on my list: "Hennie".

That one's easy. Henny feathered mean that a male bird shows the plumage patterns and shape of hen feathers rather than the typical male bird patterns and feather shapes. For shape, hackle and saddle feathers are rounded, not pointed. For some breeds (sebrights, not sure of others), henny feathering is part of the standard; unless it is specified as a requirement in the standard, it is a DQ.
