One of my pullets makes this sound when she sees me. She paces along the fence waiting for me to either feed her or pick her up. I’d like to think it’s a noise of excitement but I’m not entirely sure.

Thank you for your help!

If you 'reward' her with these activities when she makes that noise, she will keep doing it.
It doesn’t bother me at all. It’s not a problem. I was just curious what it meant. Lol. Maybe it’s her way of saying hello 😅

Sounds like the "Lost! Lost!" cheep that chicks do when they're separated from their siblings or mom and want to reconnect.
So maybe she thinks I’m her mom? That’s why I’m confused because it sounds like a distressed call to me as well. But when she’s making this noise she’s with her siblings and I haven’t even touched her

I will say she was hatched in an incubator and not raised by a hen.
