I'm still somewhat new to managing my own flock (what I have right now is my first). About 2+1/2 weeks ago my husband and I purchased some Hyline brown hens, and some Seramas from two nearby homesteads. They are both quarantining in separate locations, with the intention of the Hylines joining my flock after 4 weeks if they show no signs of illness. The seramas are small enough I plan to have a separate part of the yard for them and keep them indoors at night (more as pets than anything else). I have been keeping a close eye on both to watch out for any signs that they should not join my other birds, and so far they are free from scaly feet, misshapen beaks or limbs, they don't have any mucus around their beaks, no missing feathers, they have clear eyes and are alert and active, and seem to have normal poops and a normal hearty appetite at mealtimes, and have been maintaining a healthy steady weight and appearance. I was wondering, is there anything else I should be keeping an eye out for over the next week and a half before we hit 4 weeks quarantine and I start to introduce them to the girls and rooster outside? (They are currently quarantining in our garage, because of the recent cold snap, with the seramas in a big cage inside).
