Early summer bred our "mudblood" (1/2 araucana, 1/2 rhode island red) with an Ameraucana rooster to continue a line of chickens important to my boyfriends Mom (the "mudbloods" hens we have are the products of a hen and rooster she used to have and loved that were killed by predators). These chicks are therefore 1/2 Ameraucana, 1/4 araucana, 1/4 rhode island red (or "mini-mudbloods" as we call them). They're 14 weeks old today and none of crowed or anything. I'm pretty convinced we ended up with all roosters since it would be our luck!
