What gender is this?

Hi everybody! We rescued this hen, well we think it is a hen, but I am not too sure now, after scouring the internet. I think it may be a Copper Maran, but not too sure about the gender. Can anyone tell from this picture? Many thanks

She is female. I would say less than a year old. Can you get a close up of the comb because I can’t tell if it’s damaged or not single, if the latter then she is not a Marans.

Have you looked at the Midnight Majesty Marans? They're offered from Hoover's Hatchery and they're a cross breed/hybrid. In my opinion, this is a possibility of what she is. I have one but she's not shown any copper/brown leakage yet but she's still young. I absolutely adore my MMM. She's one of my favorites.

Good eye! I agree with this possibility. My MMM is the most heavily feathered bird, even more than my EE, but her feathers lay down smooth, unlike my EE.
